The 2016 Range Rover Sport has now arrived in United States where it’s available with more standard goodies. American customers will have the possibility of ordering the model with a diesel engine in the form of a Td6 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 producing 254 bhp (189 kW) and a maximum torque of 595 Nm (440 lb-ft). Land Rover says that in this configuration the Range Rover Sport will be capable of returning 24 mpg on the combined cycle. The beefier SDV8 diesel engine has been updated and it now comes with a start/stop system to cut fuel consumption during heavy city traffic.
For the 2016 model year, the InControl Remote has been renamed InControl Protect and can automatically contact emergency services in case of an accident. There’s also an InControl Remote Premium services granting owners the possibility of remotely locking or unlocking the car, resetting the alarm, honk the horn and flash the lights.
The 2016 Range Rover Sport will be offered as standard with All Terrain Progress Control and Auto Access Height systems while the rearview and surround cameras have been improved. Land Rover has added a Carbon Fiber Pack bringing a high-gloss lacquer finish on the tailgate, side vents, grille surround and mirrors.
