Land Rover is introducing a four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine part of the Ingenium family for the Discovery Sport. It will be available with either 150 PS & 380 Nm or 180 PS 430 Nm, with the latter granting the vehicle with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 8.9 seconds. If you go for the 150 PS variant with the manual gearbox and in the five-seat configuration, the vehicle will be able to return 57.7 mpg UK, representing the equivalent of 4.9 liters / 100 km or 48 mpg US with 129 g/km of CO2 emissions.
This frugal version will be distinguished by a blue “Sport” badge and will come with 18-inch alloys shod in low-rolling resistance tires. To cut fuel consumption even more, Land Rover’s engineers are making special final drive gearing and engine calibrations.
An even more economical variant of the Land Rover Discovery Sport will join the range later this year with a front-wheel drive layout and an Ingenium engine.
